As an Art Teacher at Ark Globe Academy, you will lead, develop, and manage the effective delivery of an
outstanding lessons, which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment. You will
promote outstanding teaching and learning and a strong school culture within a nurturing and rigorous
environment.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and teach well-structured, differentiated lessons that are aligned to the agreed curriculum
and cultivate every student’s artistic curiosity
• Set high expectations so that all students are inspired, motivated and challenged to reach their
full potential, and in doing so meet their progress and attainment targets
• Use well-selected and safe practical work to help students understand Art concepts.
• Use data to inform teaching and learning, identify areas for intervention and provide feedback to
students, staff and families in order to promote progress and outcomes
• Manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment so that
students can focus on learning
• Work collaboratively with both school and network colleagues as a committed team member,
building successful, high performing teams
• Participate actively throughout the network, by attending relevant meetings, and, as appropriate,
delivering network-wide training and initiatives
• Work with colleagues, students and families to develop a strong school community
Academy Culture
• Support the Executive Principal and other strategic leaders in fostering a strong sense of
Academy community and ethos, aligned to the Academy value, among both staff and students.
• Support the academy’s vision by contributing to the development and implementation of policies
practices and procedures
• Help create a strong academy community, characterised by consistent, orderly behaviour and
caring, respectful relationships.
• Support and work in collaboration with colleagues and other professional in and beyond the
school, covering lessons and providing other support as required.
• Vision aligned with Ark’s high aspirations and high expectations of self and others.
Extra-Curricular
• Participate in and/or create extra-curricular art activities and trips.
• Contribute to the Performing Arts faculty (art for school productions etc).
Other
• Undertake, and when required, deliver or be part of the appraisal system and relevant training
and professional development.
• To undertake any other responsibilities as directed by the Executive Principal and ALT members

• Work closely with the SEN department so that low attaining students are supported in making
rapid and sustained progress
