About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational Head of Science to lead a thriving department at Ark Evelyn Grace Academy. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the curriculum, drive excellent outcomes, and develop a team of committed teachers.
As Head of Science, you will combine outstanding classroom practice with strong leadership, ensuring high-quality teaching, a rigorous and engaging curriculum, and a culture of high expectations where all students can succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the Science department, driving standards, achievement and progress
- Line manage and coach staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Design and deliver an ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum across KS3–KS4 (KS5 where applicable)
- Use data effectively to monitor progress, close gaps and raise attainment
- Model excellent teaching and support colleagues to deliver consistently strong lessons
- Contribute to whole-school priorities and play a key role in academy improvement
What We’re Looking For
- A highly effective Science teacher with a strong track record of outcomes
- Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a senior middle leadership role
- Ability to inspire, motivate and hold others to account
- Strong curriculum, assessment and data analysis knowledge
- Commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all students
